Multiplying Life Change through Job Training in Kenya

Join People Bridge in Making a Difference

Next month, I’m heading back to Kenya—and I want to invite you to be part of it.

In January, Erin and I stood at a fruit stand in a dusty corner of Nairobi. The woman running it had gone through the Work For Life training you helped bring to Kenya in 2024. With a huge smile, she told us how she had doubled her profit margin, moved her family to better housing, and paid her children’s school and medical bills—because she learned how to run a small business well.

Her story is just one of over 2,400 lives impacted this past year through People Bridge.

At People Bridge, our mission is deeply rooted in Micah 6:8:

“He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”

We believe that helping under-resourced people learn to provide for themselves, rather than just giving to them, is one of the most powerful and dignifying forms of mercy and justice we can live out. This is what I have experienced over the past decade working in Africa.

Why I’m Going Back

From August 20–24, I will be participating in a strategic training in Kenya, alongside our Work For Life partners and People Bridge staff from Kenya and Uganda. This trip is focused on depth over breadth—going deeper with leaders who are already transforming their communities:

  • 8 government-paid prison chaplains will be trained to multiply Work For Life in Kenyan prisons
  • Nonprofit leaders from Compassion, World Vision, and others will learn to integrate the curriculum into their local work
  • Full-time field staff will come together for vision, strategy, and encouragement.
  • I’ll also visit the Clark Educational School in Nairobi, where 18 children now receive quality education and daily hope for three days after the gathering.

How You Can Help

I am seeking to raise $8,000 to fully fund the trip and cover every participant’s needs: transportation, lodging, meals, materials, and tech support.

Here’s what your gift can do:

  • $250 – Covers food, lodging, and training for one leader
  • $400 – Sponsors Rogers, a Ugandan pastor and entrepreneur traveling 12+ hours
  • $1,200 – Trains all 8 prison chaplains
  • $2,800 – Funds all group transport, our fun team building day, and materials

A full list of participants and sponsorship needs is available—if one stands out, please let me know!

What You’re Funding

  • Training leaders in business and income-generating skills that restore dignity
  • Fueling faith-based economic development through savings groups and microloans
  • Introducing AI-enhanced tools to make training more accessible and locally relevant
  • Multiplying impact through African leaders already embedded in their communities

This isn’t about charity. This is about discipleship. It’s about doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God—by equipping people to rise with dignity and provide for their families.
